Engineer
Job Purpose
Magnaflux Quasar Systems, a division of Fortune 200 Company Illinois Tool Works Inc, is the leading supplier of resonance-based Nondestructive Test (NDT) systems.
We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team in our Albuquerque facility as an Electrical Engineer. This individual will be responsible for new product designs and for production support of existing products.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities will include:
1. Evaluate products, components and applications by designing and conducting research, knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and materials.
2. Establish and coordinate engineering projects and schedules from concept to completion. Assure thoroughness of design, testing and compliance to specifications and quality of products.
3. Design Analog/Digital Spectrometer Circuitry for audio through Low RF Frequencies.
4. Maintain product database by creating accurate and complete bill of materials and assembly prints in support of production units.
5. Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
6. Provide follow-up on issues to customers and initiate communication through phone calls, faxes, memos, and emails.
7. Provide technical support to Business unit and customers. Assist in resolving technical complaints, issues, applications and process control. Work with engineers and R&D regarding product quality and performance. Recommend course of action to prevent future occurrences.
8. Maintain organization’s stability and reputation by complying with government regulations. Incorporate necessary measures to meet regulatory requirements into product and process development.
Preferences
A qualified individual will have:
• Bachelors degree in Electronics
• 5+ years experience in related field
• Proficient in PLC hardware and software
• Knowledge and understanding of control circuits preferred
• Knowledge of C++ programming preferred
• Familiar with other forms of NDT preferred
• Computer literate (MSOffice, especially Excel, Microsoft Visual Studio)
• Must be able to function with minimal supervision
Must be able to travel occassionally, including some international travel.
