Job Purpose

We’re looking for a mechanical designer/CAD drafter to help us complete the design and documentation packages for the varied engineering and manufacturing projects we’ve got. We have an immediate opening for a talented Designer with 3+ years of experience who wants to work on MSI’s many and varied electro-mechanical engineering/manufacturing projects. Start contributing on day one to projects such as airborne particulate collection systems for manned and unmanned aircraft, ground-based collection systems, detector systems, machine control systems, industrial automation equipment, and other fascinating programs.

Essential Functions

Under the guidance of our engineering staff, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for mechanical and electrical design and layout, including 3D modeling, design detailing using GD&T, and configuration management. In addition, you will be responsible for generating project documentation including Product Specifications, ECOs, and assembly procedures. Associate’s degree in Drafting or Computer Aided Design is required. Three years experience in parametric solid modeling and detailing (SolidWorks preferred) is a must. We are looking for designers with a hands-on attitude, the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems, a desire to integrate complete systems from concept through implementation, and the drive to succeed in our fast-paced environment.
