Please visit our website at www.sandia.gov. We are searching for Carbon Sequestration Postdoctoral Appointees for the Computer Science Research Institute at the Albuquerque facility. The salary is $83,100.00 per year. A benefit and relocation package is available. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.

Essential Functions

Should have expertise in at least one of the following areas: Finite element methods for subsurface modeling and simulation, high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods, and/or preconditioning methods for high-order finite element methods. Must have (or soon have) a Ph.D. in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related fields with a record of academic excellence (3.5 GPA or higher preferred). Programming experience in C++ and research experience in your field of expertise as evidenced by presentations, technical publications, released software, and/or work with applications. Communication skills appropriate for participating in multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferences

Desired credential include interest and experience in the use of advanced object-oriented software engineering practices, processes, Fortran, Matlab and high-performance computing on distributed, parallel, and/or other specialized architectures including (GP-GPUs). Knowledge of parallel programming such as MPI, OpenMP, and/or threads.
